‘Working together, learning forever.’

World Book Day 7th March

World Book Day will now take place on Thursday 7th March. The children can wear pyjamas or dress up as a character from a book if they wish.  They can also bring a book to share and a book to sell and all the money raised will go to SCIAF.

MUGA(Multi- Use Games Area)

Work will begin on 18th March for approximately 6 weeks to transform our red ash pitch into a multi-use games area which will incorporate football goals, basketball hoops, and a tennis/netball court. During this time our playtimes and lunchtimes will be slightly different for some classes so that our pupils can still access the school playground as the pitch and surrounding area will be out of use until the work is finished.  Our pupils are really excited about this.

Jump Up Transition Programme

We have another Jump Up session this term to continue to prepare our pupils for moving onto the next stage of school. On this afternoon the pupils will again spend a little time in a class which is the next stage up.

Visit Two:

  • Pupils welcomed back and teacher will remind them of their previous visit.
  • Numeracy Lesson

Hopefully by the end of the third session in term 3 our pupils will feel comfortable about moving onto the next stage in their education Family Numeracy Workshop 13th March

All parents/carers and their children are invited to a Family Numeracy Workshop on Wednesday 13th March from 3.10 – 4pm I the school hall where some of our pupils will showcase new strategies we are learning throughout the school. A letter with a reply slip has already gone out.

New Reading Books

We have already had a number of new reading books returned to us in a dreadful condition and some have not been returned at all.  Whilst we know that accidents can happen we would urge parents to ensure books are treated with respect as we have invested a lot of our Pupil Equity Fund money on these. Thank you for your cooperation.

Rights Respecting School

As we move to becoming a Rights Respecting School we will focus on the following UNICEF articles and values:

March – Article 28 – You have the right to a good quality education

Value for the month: Love

April – Article 24 – You have the right to healthcare, food, water and a clean environment

Value: Kindness

Your child will be able to discuss these articles and values with you at home.
