‘Working together, learning forever’

Our Successes and Areas for Development

Each year we produce a Standards and Quality Report which lets parents/carers know about our main successes last session and what we are working on during this session.  Below is a summary of this report.  If you would like the report in full please contact the school office and it will be photocopied for you.

Developments for 2018/19:

New Multi-Purpose Pitch

Hallowe’en Parade

We will have a Hallowe’en Parade on Wednesday 31st October at 1.30pm.  One member of each family is invited as we only have a certain amount of space in our gym hall.  Parents should enter through the gym door in the playground at 1.15pm. This event will not be ticketed. Parents should not enter the playground until the children are all back in class from lunch after 1pm. Children will not go home until 3pm on this day.  If you wish your child to wear fancy dress they should come to school dressed in their costume as unfortunately we don’t have space for parents to change their child at lunchtime. Please make sure the outfit they wear is comfortable to be in for school all day.

Children absent from school.

If your child is absent from school you should phone the Glasgow School’s Absence line on the following number: 0141 287 0039.  This is part of new procedures which have been introduced in all schools.

Parent Council

After our AGM our Parent Council Chairperson is Mrs Speirs, Treasurer is Mrs Heron and Secretary is Mrs Hargreaves. On behalf of the school I would like to thank them for taking on these roles and to thank the other members of our Parent Council who continually support our school.  Our next Parent council Meeting is on Tuesday 23rd October at 6pm in the school.

Parent Council Discos

There will be two discos organised by our Parent Council on Thursday 25th October.  The children have to wear ordinary clothes and NOT DRESS UP FOR THESE DISCOS.

P1 – 3: 5.00 – 6.30PM IN SCHOOL HALL

P4 – 7: 7.00 – 8.30 IN SCHOOL HALL.

Tickets are £1.50 and will be on sale on the evening of the discos. There will be a tuck shop on the night with healthy options available.

HEAD LICE

Please remember to check your child’s hair on a regular basis to ensure they have not caught head lice.  This will ensure that the spread of lice to another child is minimal.

Nut allergies

As a number of pupils in our school have nut allergies I ask all parents/carers not to give your child a snack containing nuts. Thank you for your cooperation.

Dates for your diary

Thursday 12th October – school closes at 3pm today for our October break and reopens on Monday 23rd October at 9am.  Staff will attend school on Friday 13th October for our in-service day.

Wednesday 31st October – Hallowe’en Parade in school in the afternoon.  Fancy dress is optional.  More details to follow after October break
